I am not saying that Tiekerhook dogs are the only dogs. I got a very nice dog from Al Gill in Ohio that shows lots of drive and focus. The dog picks up fast but his bite is not as hard as I like. I love the dog and I plan on keeping him till that day. I'm just saying I like what I see in all those lines from Tiekerhook. Not to cut down show-line people or other lines or POODLE people. I know there are a lot of strong working lines not afraid of the high drive type dogs. This is the good ol USA. Have at it what you want. This is a German shepherd forum for the German shepherd dog. I started out just asking a question.

Tiekerhook like all good working kennels- some great, some not so great, some nothing, most VERY high drive, not for everybody.

HAHAHHA!!!  Candy I know exactly what you mean.  This was  my experience with my Tiekerhook dog, but it is also my experience with my Waldestraum dog too,  and why I love high drive working line dogs,  they keep me honest and active and always laughing.  I agree with you, our dogs are not  for most "active pet homes" because what passes for "active" in most pet homes just wouldn't cut it for our dogs, nor could we be satisfied with that type of dog either, so thank god for high drive working line GSD breeders!

VonKohlenBerg is right. The kennel produces a lot. How may Tiekerhook dogs did you see on the INAK of Holland, How many onthe BSP, how many on the WUSV??

There were some good dogs, there will be some good dogs. The future is only what an owner wants with and makes of his dog. And that depents not of Tiekerhook dogs. Open your eyes and listen good, look arround!

Isnt'it a commercial thing??

>  Say what you will, his dogs in simple terms, "KICK some ASS"!! As a PSD trainer and handler If I had the opportunity, I would choose his lines first anyday when looking for a prospect for the street!!

Oaklawn, just judging from the responses posted so far, I would say the answer to your original question is NO. It doesn't look like anyone knows of any all Tiekerhook litters. I agree with some of the posts that regardless of what the line is, not all the pups produced are going to have "it". From what I've seen, the problems with consistent producing usually occur when a particular line finds its way to this county (the U.S.). By that I mean we Americans want the dogs bigger and prettier and for the most part we say to hell with the qualities and abilities that a GSD was bred for. Sorry folks, these dogs weren't bred to be pretty. That's just a bonus. My 8 month old male is a grandson of Taco 't Palmaleinehof, who was a great grandson of Lanzo Tiekerhook. Like most of the Tiekerhook dogs he's a liitle slow to mature but that's a trade off I've been willing to take for what he brings to the table. I'm training him for a personal protection dog. Will he ever be a great tracker? I doubt it. Does he have a grip like a bear trap, solid nerve, and outstanding temperment? Absolutely. Will he pass these traits on to his offspring? That remains to be seen. To say that Koos is breeding and amplifying the traits he likes in a dog is absolutely true. Any breeder worth their salt and who is truly tryng to better the breed is going to do the very same thing. We get these dogs from these great lines and put an unholy amount of titles on them and people flock to said dogs just dying for their puppies. The problem is that just because these dogs have titles doesn't mean that the dog can produce and pass these traits on to their offspring. And then we play God and say "Well, these pups have great drive but we need to put a litlle size into the line" or "I like the drive but the pups just aren't pretty enough for me" and ruin a good thing. There's a reason the best dogs still come from Europe. We Americans are just too stuck up to admit it.

Thank you Bigswill well put, may I add,The founders idea of what he had in mind for the German Shepherd."Make sure my Shepherd dog remains a working dog,for I have struggled all my life for that aim"Max von Stephanitz  1864-1936  When people say those type dogs you never see on a national or world level don't know what they are talking about.   Von Zorbanic  I would say in the schutzhund world there is much Politics out there http://www.tiekerhook.com/ look around and see, also remember the books not finished yet. Anybody that knows what a stong working dog should look like will apreciate that type of dog. In the service world police war and other high stess jobs they want one of those dogs. But this is the  USA !!! Good bite good nerves good head, strong, prey drive fight drive defence drive. Give me 14 good years with one on those type dogs any day. Those Genetic drives are good.
