My Mal had jet lag I think. She was very quiet, kept to herself and tired for like 2 weeks. She always ate good though. Her first BM wasn't till day 2, so I figured it was stress related. (16 hour flight )
After the first few days, I was thinking maybe she wouldn't be what I wanted, but all that changed bigtime in about 2 weeks.
We love her, thanks again.    :o)

I have shipped and received maybe a hundred pups to/from Germany, all over North America,. Never had a problem. Be sure to pull puppy's food the night before and put a few cubes of ice in his/her water dish for the flight. Lots of shredded paper or a carpet sample or something else comfy and absorbant in the box that can be thrown out at the other end if necessary. I try to ship Continental or Delta. Continental takes extra good care of pets.

I've never had a puppy phased by it. When they come from a particularly long flight across several timezones, they can be pretty jet-lagged, but let them rest for a day and soon they're bouncing around the house.

When your pup arrives, don't overwhelm him with too much toys, squealing affection, or play. Imagine how you feel after a multi-hour flight to a completely new place, and just let him take it easy when he first gets there.

Boa was friendly though tired the first day.  She's been full speed ahead ever since.  That was from Germany to Seattle, WA.

That was the one thing....my male was a little messy....Although he was a little older when he was shipped, so was just a bit of pee.  Nothing terrible.    I can't say that he went through any real adjustment period.

Shipping should not cause long lasting Trauma to a puppy! We ship dogs often enough and never had a problem with it have a lasting effect. The biggest problem we've had on 2 separate occasions over the last 10 years is they temporarily "lost" our dogs while in transit.
