We all know why we come here.
As for Europe I think there are several reasons for who does and doesn't visit this website.
Advertisers calling the shots, that's not my problem.

There are other sites out there that are over moderated to the detriment of the sites for what some people perceive as being evil, mean, wicked and nasty. I have seen people get banned on other sites for saying such things as "that is a load of crap" or "your method is stupid".
You can't have an open forum exchange and have no tolerance for the variety of individual styles of communication especially for the express purpose of pandering to the feint of heart. Just because somebody claims that a statement is evil, mean, wicked, or nasty, does not necessarily make it so, although it may be those things to an individual reader.
Two Moons, you are right on the money with your posts in this thread.

Here's Oli's words off the 2010 Hot Topic Retraction thread pages 1 & 3
There are some members that fight competitive breeders, (which I find ok), and others that cause disruption just for the sake of it (which I do not like) and some that bring good natured humor to dark topics and lighten them up (which is also ok) ..
and
Legally there is no reason for me to delete anything, no matter the filth said. (you can sue and win a libel against the writer, but that does not, legally oblige me to remove the post) Bu I do want to keep the forum a happy place where new breeders will learn stuff.
like:
1) Breed good dogs that improve the breed
2) Take care of their dogs so that their health shines in trials/shows
3) work with others.
I do not want newcomers to learn that :
1) the oldies in the breed are somewhat homicidal
2) other breeders will do anything to ruin you
3) don't try to find tips for improving the breed, do what you think is best.

Paul G - can we just go back to your Original Post for a minute pls ?
There is no way I was saying that there was no merit at all in the issue
you posted, yes people do go over the top sometimes; but I was making
the - perfectly reasonable - point that some of us are excluded from know-
ing the "hows & whys" of some of the battles, not having been here for
yonks, and we cannot expect to. It isn't enough to turn me 'off' PDB and
because as I pointed out a majority of posts are useful, I keep reading
without perpetually taking offense. I suggest others might do the same.
You posted "I talked to a man who has a dog on the site for sale, and he
does not post on the forum because of the aggressive, sharp, fear-biting,
civil, overly-hard PEOPLE..."
How exactly is putting that full description in your post any less provocative
and insulting than my shorthand version "awful" or, quoting you, "nasty" ?
You also said (and this appears to be your comment, not hiding behind
a quote from someone else) : "If a dog behaved like some people on the
forum you would shoot it as a danger to the public." That isn't inflamatory ?
TOO MUCH 'POT CALLING KETTLE' to take you very seriously, I fear.
Suggest you make the argument again at a later date (or agree when someone
else raises it, as they surely will), but that time don't undermine yourself.
