These are the better quality ones. I found a black/white one from WWII ? lost it... Might find it again.

There are some out there - but few and far between.
Most of the breeders don´t care about working abilities in my kind of thinking, for a lot of them it´s a big deal doing some obedience or agility.
In almost all of the dogs I met there was no defense, no aggression, no temperament-several were timid - but maybe I only met the wrong dogs....

How I know Dashing Dawn White Aminah is the first White Swiss Shepherd in the world who passed the HWT and she is the first white shepherd in Hungary who has a Working Test. It was a so beautiful work from my clever dog! :) I'm so proud of her.

They say as susie says they tend to be more placid that the colored dogs. I've always seen them be about the same, but I've not seen many.

The dogs you're looking at are not GSD's they're Berger Blanc Suisse ( translation; White Swiss Shepherds). They aren't expected to have the same temperament as a GSD, they're two different breeds.

BBS Breed Standard: BEHAVIOUR/ TEMPERAMENT:
Lively and balanced temperament, enjoys action, attentive with good ability to be trained. Friendly and discreet. High social competence and devoted to his owner. Never afraid or aggressive without provocation. A joyful and easy to teach working and sporting dog with capability for all round education. High social competence allows for a marked ability to adapt and integrate to all kinds of social events and situations.

Although no other breed has been introduced into the BBS breed comparing them to the GSD is like comparing Granny Smith Green Apples to McIntosh apples...they're all apples but they don't look or taste the same...and they aren't supposed to. The FCI recognizes the BBS and the GSD as two distinctly differently breeds.

IF you're looking for video's on YouTube for these dogs doing IPO you'll probably have better luck if you type in Berger Blanc Suisse rather than White Swiss Shepherd. :)

With a name like whiteshepherds, let me guess what you call them.

All white shepherds so far I've looked at trace to GSD :)
The name of the breed varies from country and/or registry. The dogs are the same.

Depending who you speak to, it is a:

a. German Shepherd Dog of White coat color
b. White Shepherd
c. White Swiss Shepherd

and, One individual dog could qualify to register as all three breeds! 

So Susie, they are two breeds, what does that mean to you?
