good point Steve and Betty; Ivan B is the only person living in the great USA to win a world championship. Many others have come close and gotten on the podium. They are all an inspiration. What if there was a thread a few years ago when Ivan won that reported he had been given undue help? or that another contestant had been cheated. This is not a productive thread yet here I am wasting my time again on this weak subject matter. I bet Ivan looked at this with his eyes rolled up to the heavens and wishes everyone would go train their dogs and try to be at the top of the podium next time.

So without having to go look up results, it sounds like the winner had 300 points and the only points Ivan and his dog lost were those from the long bite.
Otherwise this thread doesn't make sense to me....how can it be ONLY the long bite that "robbed" Ivan of the championship?  How do you know the others didn't get "robbed" out on the track?  Or anywhere else?  Why can't the unlucky person who got the shitty draw complain and say they would have won had they not gotten the worst draw?

Where does the complaining and woulda coulda shouldas end??

There is only two people on this thread who are bad Sportsmen and that is Dobermannman and of course Bubbabooboo the very worst one could meet i think. Recently a friend told me that a club member had entered a trial and he missed out on the Hurdle the dog jumped but then failed to bring the block back over otherwise he would have scored 94 points. he said the Guy lost all the points for that excercise. i said he did not lose all 15 points because he went over the hurdle cleanly.
But then i said IF he had done this and done that he would have scored higher? BUT he did not and he got the points he earned only as is right. This sport is all about what your dog does with your help. not what it may have done, it does not score points for what it may have done or should have done. When my own dog is given the points i accept them from a qualified judge who has been doing the job for many years and they tell you excatly where the dog went wrong so to help you put it right in the future. i for one would never want any points not earned, that cannot help the handler or his dog, for me you get what you earn and no more only then can the team improve and go forewards

Steve:

If a lot more people felt the way you did there would be half as many threads on the PDB.Your exactley right.

If Ivan was a better trainer, none of this would have taken place. Yes, I'm going to blame Ivan. And I don't like Ivan in the red do-rag. If any of you so-called experts wants my credentials, you can do a simple search on YouTube. I made a how-to video on wearing the right headwear for your eyes, hair color and complexion. If you skip to 43:29 of the video, you will see me accepting an award at the 2003 Madison, WI Hat Fair.

Chaz,

The red do rag was bad enough but with GREEN pants? A total fashion disaster.
What about the Bulgarian national colors and Bulgaria on the back of the shirt?
I thought this was the AMERICAN Working Dog Federation trial not a world event?
I can't seem to find any You Tube video. I searched on IPO head gear and nothing come up.

I posted a video of Ivan/Ebor AWDF protection routine asking for opinions based on Ivans FB  comment that he thought the decoy had turned early. There were ~180 replies most having nothing to do with the original post. There doesn't seem to be any video showing a clear view of exactly what happened and everybody has their own opinion. In the end Ivan and Ebor are the best IPO team in the US and in the top 10 in the World.. Most replies were by people lucky to have a dog with an IPO III. If you want a serious discussion about any dog sport? The PDB is the last place to look for it  (Less then 50 words)

by joanro on 22 June 2013 - 13:06
