My thanks to Shirley and all her helpers for a wonderful day at the GSD Junior Handler Rally.  This was the second Rally to be held and has built on what was tried out last year.  17 Juniors from very young up to 20+ and what a super day they had.  Handling in the conformation ring,  a judging class with each one placing the dogs in their order of merit, doing obedience - some trying it for the very first time, agility handling - a learning curve for handlers and dogs and even a Breed Survey with the dog handled throughout by a young lady of10/11 years of age.  Congratulations to all who entered the  competition in the afternoon you all did splendidly and also congratulations to all who achieved individual achievement awards in each catogory throughout the day - can't wait for the next one!  Oh yes and well done team Nikonis for winning the lunchtime quiz!

Just like to add to Nikkis comments. Fantastic day, nice and relaxed. There were people of all ages present, some lending dogs to handle, some travelling huge distances to help out. No glory wanted just a nice laid back day. My son Liam handled for the first time and came out of the ring blaming me for Rosie getting loose. Seems he may have a future at this lark. Anyhow thank you and well done to Shirley , Mo , Zepp and Shirleys VERY pregnant sister plus all who turned up to help. Maybe we could recycle some of the seldom seen older handlers along to coach. Neil Dodds and Ray Sullivan spring to mind.
Well done all.

I arrived late due to getting a puncture on the M6 but everyone appeared to be having a great time. I enjoyed judging the Junior handling classes and was very impressed with the handling skills of some of the youngsters they could put some of our adult more experienced handlers to shame.
Well done to everyone involved with the organisation of this fantastic day it was so nice to see everyone having such a good time and enjoying their dogs.

Hi Dani,

We missed you - and are pleased that you are better.  The rally day was superb - this year the extra`s were a B B Q which everyone loved, frshly cooked all day, and a GSD Breed Survey - dogs to be handled by juniors.  Also a photographic session regarding photographing GSD`s given by Lin of Fardogart, and everyone enjoyed seeing their pictures up on the laptop.  Tte prize for the chosen top picture was a beautifully book all about photographing dogs, by Nick Ridley, and also signed by himself.. so that wnt down very wel, and Lin said that she found a few "stars" in her photo group who she would like to mentor for the future !!
No - one allowed me on the quad bike this year, so I couldnt do my impression of "her from Benidorm" but I hear tre is a super photograph knocking around of Helen Hele doing a full star jump ???   perhaps next year I`ll be on that quad again..

Regards and thanks to all supporters.   Mo - Mascani

Hi Lin,
Wow - you gave me a turn there, I am so relieved that its Helen and her star jump (well you got half of it anyways) I for a min thought it was me doinga 2008 impression of "Er from Benidorm".    Great to have you down here Lin, even if you did see Aberdeen before Birmingham.    Mo
